Lil Wayne’s newest singe, “6 Foot 7 Foot” featuring Cory Gunz, and produced by Bangladesh, can best be interpreted as Weezy welcoming himself out of prison. This track is infectious, which is why it’s the lead single for Mr. Carter’s upcoming album, Tha Carter IV. The production on this release is insane (in a good way), which fits in with the probable insanity of Wayne himself (the jury’s out on that one). The music is perfect for Lil Wayne’s doing of exactly what he is best at, expelling lyrics from his body like diarrhea. Notable quotables include “life is the bitch / and death is her sister / sleep is the cousin / what a fuckin’ family picture /you know father time / we all know mother nature / it’s all in the family / but I am of no relation” and “I think you stand under me if you don’t understand me / had my heart broken by this woman named Tammy / but hoes gon’ be hoes, so I couldn’t blame Tammy”. But while Wayne’s flow is certainly impressive, his lyricism is lacking. I won’t deny that Lil Wayne is great at delivering clever, humorous, and head spinning lyrics, but I will deny that he is talented at spitting intelligent, relevant lyrics. Of course, this lyrical style is obviously working for Wayne, but he has yet to display the ability to deliver truly beautiful and inspiring lyrics. Furthermore, the contribution to the single done by Cory Gunz is relatively unimpressive. Beyond Gunz’s voice sounding like a mix between Gudda Gudda and Nicki Minaj, his verse just seems like a petty attempt to keep up with Weezy’s lyrical delivery. It may be a different story had Cory Gunz succeeded, but he certainly did not. Overall this is a good song, but it could have done without the aide of Cory Gunz.

Neck ain’t even froze up, but I’m loco with my loca
Plus my wifey drive me crazy, so I call her my chauffeur
Hit the beat, Sammy Sosa
Swagger leaning like a post-up
She sitting on my lap and says its…

I used to get a bit paranoid back in Wordpress when traffic rise and I have no idea who visits. So I stopped writing too much about my life. Not that anyone really care, rather, I felt that what I do everyday is inconsequential to anyone’s life. So it’s unnerving why people bother reading.

Last Friday night,
Yeah we scrolled on our dashboards,
Saw some clothes we can’t afford,
Don’t think we ever got bored

Last Friday night
Yeah we reblogged funny shit,
“Ask me questions and submit,”
No, we’ll never ever quit

Last Friday night
Text, photo, video
Maybe post some audio
Should have got off hours ago

Last Friday night
No, we never went outside,
We stayed in the house online,
Blog all day, blog all night

This Friday night,
Do it all again,
This Friday night,
Do it all again
